Practical follow-through
The documents and the accounts should work together.
Beneficiary arrangements
Review investment-account beneficiary designations alongside your intentions and legal arrangements.
Account ownership
Consider how investment accounts coordinate with a trust and help complete appropriate changes after professional review.
Family transitions
Help surviving spouses and beneficiaries with inherited-account and distribution questions, involving other professionals when needed.
Relationships & compensation
Understand the connections.
UAA, Alliance America, and Legacy Assurance Plan are affiliated businesses connected through common individual ownership. UAA is owned by Follett Financial Holdings; Alliance America and Legacy Assurance Plan are owned by UF Resources Corporation. They do not share one corporate parent, but do share common individual owners and these owners financially benefit from the success of each of the companies.
Most UAA representatives receive commissions through Alliance America. This creates a financial incentive to recommend insurance products. Legal, tax, and insurance services have separate professional responsibilities and may involve additional fees.
You may continue to work with your own attorney or CPA. Coordination requires appropriate authorization and does not make UAA responsible for another professional’s advice.
